CHAIRMAN
Shafi brings rich experience of 40 years having worked across diverse products, industries across markets as Middle East, Europe, North America and South East Asia. In the last two decades he has been working in the telecommunications and business process outsourcing industry and has been managing Asia Telecom since it’s inception in 1997.
As an entrepreneur he has built several businesses during his stint in Dubai, London, New York and Hong Kong respectively. At Asia Telecom he has been driving force behind the company’s growth and is leading the company’s diversified business interests. He is currently based in Hong Kong.
PRESIDENT
Jas is the current CEO and President of Asiatel overseeing day to day management, strategic planning, P&L Management and business expansion. He brings over 25 years of diverse experience in business development and senior management roles, including product launches, as well as new projects while working for multinational companies such as Aditya Birla Group, Fullerton India / Fullerton Enterprises (indirect subsidiary of Temasek, Singapore), IL&FS group and National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), India’s leading depository.
Jas was the founding member of the BPO diversification initiative of the Asiatel group and has been an instrumental growth driver in taking the business from 0 employees to over 500 employees.
Jas has also been involved in group’s other special projects like remittances and scaling up of wholesale telecom trading desk in Philippines.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Alicia Waga brings in more than 4 decades of experience. A management graduate of 1981-83 batch, she has worked across industries, geographies and in numerous roles namely office manager, auditor, HR, Admin and leading the overall finance. In Asiatel, she is in charge of 3 departments namely Finance, HR and Admin since July 2008.
In the past she has worked with GARAMCO, Bahrain in capacity of Internal auditor. She had a long stint with US Naval Station, Subic Bay in numerous capacities such as Supervisory management analyst, auditor and statistical assistant.
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Linlin has been a part of Asiatel since nearly 16 years having worked 7 years in the Hong Kong office and is based in Manila since 2013. Linlin started the “Philippines centric Retail” Telecom business in Hong Kong and was instrumental in starting the Philippines Centre for serving the captive needs of the parent telecom company in 2006. Since 2013, she has been an active senior management member that has bseen Asiatel growing into an independent BPO for 3rd party clients.
Linlin brings an overall experience of 20 years in Business operations. Prior to joining Asiatel, she was working for a telecom company named Owtel for 4 years.
